Our Beginnings

Help for Haiti, Inc., is a small group of loving individuals seeking to make a difference in the lives of desperate people. up came together under the leadership of Mr. Johnny Jones for one common goal; “to help the people of Haiti”. The group, made up of  people from diverse professions and back- grounds. There are educators, entrepreneurs, physicians,  medical professionals, state employees, financial strategist, high school and college students.

Most of the group was just meeting each other for the first time while others shared some years of acquaintance through St. Monica Catholic Church. During our first mission all came as a family looking out for one another and ministering to the needy people of Kobonal Haiti Mission.

We experienced a wonderful success story, in Kobonal, however we realize the hard work and dedication it has taken to build this mission and minister to the people the way it does. We do recognize that every available resource is needed to keep this good work going strong. More people, and donations, will result in more Haitians being helped.

Mission Statement

Help for Haiti, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that assists in supplementing the needs of the children of the Kobonal. Our emphasis is the enhancement of faith, health, well-being and education of God’s children. Help for Haiti, Inc.’s goals as partner with the Kobonal Mission are to help provide education, food, clothing and medical care for these children.

Additionally we also strive in outreaching to the Kobonal communities. Our objective is to focus on refining the quality of life in the Kobonal communities, while conserving the dignity and culture of the people of Haiti.

Our Focus

Education

The Mission is the foundation of education for
twelve hundred Haitian children. Our aim is to implement workshops for after school work trades, such as farming, sewing. Increasing classroom visual aids, and supplying the basic necessary school supplies; pens, pencils, paper, books, Bibles, back packs, and playground
equipment.

Health and Well-being

The families of the communities do not have electricity, running water and other conveniences in their huts. Consequently the need for personal and well-being items is essential in decreasing the spread of diseases and lowering the death rates from typhoid fever, malaria, and tuberculosis. We are dedicated in supplying basic grooming, sanitation, and wellness items to the school children. These items of greatest needs are razors, nail clippers, shampoos, deodorant, wet ones, water bottles, vitamin supplements, clothing, underwear, and shoes.
